Mount Adams Mt. Adams is one of my favorite mountain to photograph. Here are some shots I have taken over the years. Beautiful winter afternoon below the Mountain There's a story behind each picture, the story behind this one is such... while traveling and chasing light around the Pacific Northwest I discovered many beautiful back roads. This picture was taken on one of these back roads near Glenwood. I discovered it almost a decade ago on one of my motorcycle rides. Since then, I've been returning to this location every once in awhile and every time I stop I'll take a few snaps. I remember one time in October, I was there once again on my motorcycle with few other bikers. At the time, the sky was dark and stormy and Mt Adams and the trees in the foreground were lit up with beautiful, soft light. I thought to myself that I should stop and take a picture, but at the same time I didn't want to hold up my buddies, so I kept going and thinking to myself that I'll come back the next day. And so I did...but guess what? The scene was way different, flat sky, no light, everything wet, still kind of cool, but nothing like I remembered from the day before. Of course I went back a couple more times that autumn, but I've never seen the perfect stormy clouds with a beautiful light, ever again. I have seen many different nice views over there, but the one that I hesitated to stop for never came back. I will keep going back till I get that one shot. Hopefully, I'll get it one time. So my lesson is this... If you can just stop for a minute then do it, even if your friends will be waiting for you and telling you "hey, hurry up". You never know if you will see the same scene again. Mt. Adams - WA - January 2017 Fall colors - Trout Lake. Goat Rocks. Trout Lake - December 2016. Milky Way, PCT and Adams. Glenwood.
